These two art pieces were done to prep for the Georgia O'Keeffe art project. The top piece is done in chalk pastel, by using chalk pastel i have learned how to control contorting as well how to use less to show more: this means to prevent the piece from looking muddy or all a shade of brown you have to lighten up on the chalk and consciously chose your colors you are working with. The second piece is of a soda can, in this piece i chose to do it off of the actual color of the can which is gray instead i chose to do it in a light blue, this allowed the color to pop off the page as well it contrasted with the dark blues and bright oranges in the label of the Fanta. Through using these mediums i have developed a deeper understanding of color and how it relates to value shading and tones.
